On March 22nd, 1919, Japan and Poland established diplomatic relations when Japan recognized the Republic of Poland and its government. The year 2009 will mark the 90th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Poland.

To further strengthen the friendly relations between the two countries, the governments of Japan and Poland decided to organize various commemorative events with the participation and support of many people from both countries on the occasion of the “90th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between Japan and Poland”.

1. Logo
The two countries have decided the following logo as a symbol of the “90th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between Japan and Poland”. It combines the design of both countries’ national flags in the shape of the flower of cherry blossom.

2. Registration of events
The two countries have decided to adopt events under “90th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between Japan and Poland” so that as many people and organizations as possible can participate and cooperate in the commemorative year.

Contact points for the registration will be the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan and the Embassy of Japan in Poland, as well as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland and the Embassy of Poland in Japan.
